Okay, if you're in dire need of resources there is a way to reap in a fair amount of resources in a matter of time.

The method is to train about 100-500 supply troops/carts/wagons (the amount of these troops doesnt matter, the more troops, the better the return!) and send them into cities without military units (as the march takes longer with more units)

Now go exploring around the map, you'll have to look for certain players in the game, these people are;

-City names, peoples names that are default eg. NewCityJ2H6
These some of people may probably have abandoned the game, though their city may still have resource fields gathering resources. Take the opportunity to gather some of these resources, pay off not might be as great, but its a lower level of risk.

-Cities that have 0 might
People with 0 might have no way of defending themselves or retaliating (hopefully you have some might to begin with, if not start building up!), but if you're willing to risk your troops the suggested amount of might that might be okay would be around the 1000-5000 mark.

-Cities that are a lower level (compared to yours)
The same argument as above, they'll most likely will have lesser advantage than you (assuming your alchemist/stable/wall/etc. upgrades are at max)

-Non alliance cities
They are alone and can only depend of themselves.

-Someone you dont like lol (neutral or hostile)
Pretty obvious, you shouldn't attack friendlies, you may start a war with the opposing alliance.

-Cities near yours
Target cities that are near by so it doesn't take too long to attack and not long enough for the victim to respond to the attack. Dont make it too close to your city as they probably will be able to find you. Also, you will want to reap benefits quickly. If you've targeted almost every city, start to move further out in a ripple effect.

DO NOT:
-Attack cities with high level of might (compared to yours, even in general over 1million)
Its highly advised not to attack these people, they will most likely have a full upgraded watch tower and will have your coords and will retaliate with their army.

-Attack alliance cities
Unless if you want to spend the time and research the alliance in the alliance search bar. Do not attack these cities, they may have you coords and could possibly seek revenge and create a mass attack on your city. But if the alliance are weak and consists of a few members (1-5) then you may, if youre willing to gamble.

-Attack neighboring cities
Common sense here, unless if you're absolutely sure that they have no chance in retaliating.

-Attack friendlies
Obvious, do not attack them, you can be kicked out of your own alliance and or possibly start a war.

-Send military units with supply units
It will only increase the march time and slow everything down. Also it may risk your military units being killed.
